I created and donated this painting for the Foundation Fighting Blindness "Taste for Sight" wine tasting fundraiser event in 2023. The purpose of this piece is to raise awareness of the blindness spectrum and use my art to support finding a cure to end blindness. With my blurry eyesight, I combine realism with a touch of abstract in my artistic style. The painting features a bottle of red wine and a wine glass as a tribute to the wine tasting event and showcases a colorful sunset view of the iconic Coronado Bridge. To make the artwork more accessible for individuals dealing with vision loss, I added real lights to the original piece since I struggle to see in low lighting, particularly after sunset, which is a common symptom of Retinitis Pigmentosa. The heavy texture of the paint on the grass and other elements provides a tactile experience for those who cannot see the painting clearly on the original and adds a beautiful textured look on the printed copies.
