  • Option 1: Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB)

In 2019, I visited the San Francisco Medical Center for a retina appointment where I was introduced to the Foundation Fighting Blindness organization. www.fightingblindness.org Through their assistance, I received genetic testing and support to comprehend my results. They also keep me updated on the current clinical trials and research pertaining to retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, usher syndrome, stargardt’s and other degenerative diseases. The FFB's mission is to facilitate research that will eventually lead to prevention, treatment, and cure for those afflicted with vision loss. Their efforts gave me hope for a cure to end blindness for not only myself, but also for millions of others across the globe. That is why I want to support the FFB's mission in any way possible. I joined the FFB San Diego Leadership Chapter in January 2021 and today, I am very proud to say I am the Vice President for our chapter and always looking to recruit more amazing volunteers in my area. Please contact me to inquire about joining our San Diego Chapter.

  • Option 2: San Diego Center for the Blind

Adapting to life with vision loss has been a challenging journey for me. However, in 2021, everything changed when I enrolled in classes at the San Diego Center for the Blind www.sdcb.org. The SDCB offers free vision rehabilitation services that are not covered by insurance, empowering individuals in the local community to adjust to changing or failing vision.  I am grateful for their services and would like to support their cause to continue providing these essential resources to the visually impaired community.
