I’m excited to share a heartwarming story behind a recent order from my Unblurred Collection. A wonderful customer came across my website and was deeply moved by the lion artwork on one of my mugs. The lion, with its two scars over the eye and the message, "Live life one cup at a time. Enjoy the Unblurred journey," resonated with him on a personal level. His father was blind in one eye, and he wanted to honor his father's strength and resilience by spreading this message to others in the blind community. To do this, he generously purchased a batch of mugs for me to donate to organizations supporting those with vision loss.
Round One: San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB) 🦁✨
For the first round of deliveries, I headed to the San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB), an organization that’s very close to my heart. SDCB helps adults with blindness or vision impairment achieve their highest level of independence through counseling, training, rehabilitation, and community outreach. I was thrilled to personally deliver the mugs to their amazing staff, who work tirelessly to make a difference. You can learn more about their incredible mission at [SDCB.org](https://sdcb.org).
Round Two: Blind Community Center San Diego (BCCSD) 🌟**
Next, I made my way to the Blind Community Center San Diego (BCCSD), where I dropped off another batch of mugs. BCCSD offers fantastic programs for the blind and visually impaired, including choir, self-defense, exercise classes, independent craft-making, social activities, and more. They even connected me with water skiing and surfing, two activities I’ve come to love!
The Journey Continues
I have one more location to visit, and I can’t wait to share the details with you soon! Despite no longer being able to drive, I didn’t let that challenge stop me from delivering these mugs. I used the local public paratransit system to get where I needed to go because the story behind this customer’s donation means so much to me.
Thank you for following along on this journey of giving back. Stay tuned for the final update on this meaningful mission!
With gratitude,
Raquel
