I recently had the incredible opportunity to donate one of my original paintings to an event dedicated to raising funds for a unique and empowering cause—the Blind Ski Program. This program offers blind and visually impaired individuals the chance to learn how to water ski or enjoy adventurous boat rides, creating unforgettable experiences and building confidence on the water.
Being a part of this program myself, I’ve experienced firsthand the joy and freedom that water skiing brings. As someone who was initially hesitant, I’m incredibly thankful to the amazing instructors and volunteers who taught me the skills and helped me discover a new passion. It’s a program that not only builds skills but fosters an empowering sense of independence and excitement.
I’m grateful to have contributed my art to support this cause, with the proceeds going directly towards helping others experience the same thrill. I look forward to seeing how this funding will continue to make a difference for so many in the blind and visually impaired community.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event, and a huge shoutout to the Blind Ski Program team for all they do!
With gratitude,
Raquel
